Run it yourself.
One container. No login.
The same MermaidStage, on your own machine: the web app, the API and a Postgres database in a single Docker container. No accounts, no sign-in, no Kubernetes, no Helm. Describing a system uses your Anthropic key; generated narration uses your ElevenLabs key, and is optional. Pasting Mermaid needs neither.
Install it
Copy the command below and put your two keys in. Anthropic key · ElevenLabs key (optional).
Paste it into a terminal on a machine with Docker.
Open http://127.0.0.1:8823. That is it.
docker run -d --name mermaidstage \
-p 127.0.0.1:8823:8823 \
-v mermaidstage:/data \
-e ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=sk-ant-... \
-e ELEVENLABS_API_KEY=... \
donrickman/mermaidstage-community:latestWhat the flags do: -p puts it on port 8823 of this machine only. -v mermaidstage:/data is a Docker volume that holds the Postgres database, so your Stages survive stopping, upgrading or deleting the container. The two -e lines are your keys. No ElevenLabs key? Delete that line; narration then plays in the browser’s own voice. The first start takes a few seconds while it creates its database.
The image
Built for linux/amd64 and linux/arm64, with an SBOM and provenance attached, on Debian 13. On Docker Hub.
What it is not
One person, one machine. There are no accounts, roles, readers or invitations, and share links cannot be restricted to a network. Everyone who can reach the port is the owner, which is why the command binds to 127.0.0.1. Teams, SSO and the security controls are the hosted product.
